Dear Hiring Manager,

As a Doctorate of Sociology graduate with a strong interest in mass and social media, I apply with enthusiasm for this opportunity.

I am currently a Research Coordinator at the University of Sunnybank’s Office of Media Studies, where my focus is on the role and influence of mass media on millennials. Prior to this, I was an Assistant Professor in the Department of Sociology, where in addition to instructional and lesson planning, I graded papers and tests, proctored labs, and held office hours.

As well as my instructional duties, I assisted with the research and writing of "Chapter 2: Democracy and the Media" in Erick Miska’s (2017) Society and the Media in the 21st Century (Persimmon Press). 

In addition to 6 years of research and teaching and my recent doctorate, I hold a Master of Sociology and Social Research and a BA in Psychology and Sociology.

I have enjoyed my time at the University of Sunnybank, and am grateful for the excellent research and teaching opportunities offered. I now seek a stimulating role that will enable me to draw upon my sociology and academic background in an applied setting.
