I am writing this letter because I would very much like to do my internship at Philips. Following a recommendation of a university teacher, I looked at the Philips vacancy and immediately knew this was the perfect vacancy for me.

After buying multiple Philips products (my favourite being the hair-vacuuming beard trimmer) and being in contact with your customer service, I started developing a preference for Philips over other similar companies. Working at such a fantastic, internationally famed company would be a unique opportunity and as soon as I saw the open vacancy I had to take the opportunity.

I am convinced I possess the right competences and skills for the job required, due to my study and work experience but also because of my personal qualities. The last few years I have been constantly occupied with various (marketing) projects, both school and work related. These vary from customer satisfaction researches to developing marketing strategies for companies. As a result I developed strong analytical capacities and flair for marketing. Because of my previous work experiences my (professional) social and commnicative skills have advanced considerably as I was constantly in contact with customers and colleagues. Moreover, my fluent English, Dutch and Russian further improve my communication abilities. Although I often worked in groups, and therefore am a real team player, I also completed a lot of individual projects succesfully. As the ultimate independecy test I chose to complete a part of my study on the other side of the world, In Australia. Furthermore I would describe myself as driven, determined, creative, communicative and enterprising, which hopefully fits what your company is looking for.

The position as Marketing Management Intern would be a valuable next step for my career, I would like to take this step at Philips for multiple reasons. Firstly, I really like and relate to what Philips stands for: creating a healthier society through meaningful work. There is a greater purpose that Philips stands for and this in turn increases instrinsic motivation. Furthermore, it is very appealing that Philips operates in an international market and in this position I would be active in the Benelux. This would be a great challenge and opportunity to broaden my horizon. Secondly, I believe Philips would offer very interesting projects and assignments where I can fully use my marketing knowledge and develop it further. The job includes a wide variety of responsibilities and offers a lot of diversity. Moreover, it would be a fantastic experience to be able to work with a team of experienced professionals that are passionate about their work. Besides work itself, it is also important for there to be a pleasant atmosphere at the office. I feel like this is definitely the case for Philips. Finally, I am convinced I could learn a lot at Philips and would very much enjoy my time there.
