Dear Hiring Manager,

I am writing to express my interest in the opportunity at your organization as an Assistant Professor with a background in Organic Chemistry and a Doctorate in Synthetic Organic Chemistry.

Currently, I hold the position of Assistant Professor at the University of Sunnybank, where I instruct undergraduate courses in Multi-Step Organic Synthesis and Introduction to Organic Synthesis Laboratory. Additionally, I serve as a Research Coordinator in the Department of Organic Chemistry, collaborating on projects sponsored by industry and government that involve enzyme engineering, microfluidics, optics, biology, biochemistry, and tissue/organ systems. In this role, I am responsible for synthesizing small molecules and conducting bioconjugation reactions with protein chemists.

I possess a strong knowledge of biochemical assays, organic synthesis and mechanisms, analytical methods, physical organic chemistry, as well as experience with NMR, IR, and Mass Spectrometry, in alignment with the requirements of the position.

While I have enjoyed my time at the university and am thankful for the research opportunities, I am now seeking an industry role that will allow me to contribute to longer-term R&D objectives.

I have attached my curriculum vitae for your review and consideration. Thank you for your time and I look forward to the possibility of discussing next steps.

Sincerely,

Jeffrey Chang
