What does our proofreading service NOT do?

A proofreading service focuses on reviewing and correcting grammar, spelling, punctuation, and formatting issues in your document. However, it does not include more in-depth edits or revisions related to content, structure, or creative input. Here's what proofreading typically does not include:

Content Rewriting or Creation:
Proofreaders do not rewrite sentences, paragraphs, or entire sections for you. They work with what’s already written, correcting errors but not generating new content.
Major Structural Changes:
Proofreading does not involve reordering sections, restructuring arguments, or making suggestions about the overall organization of your document.
Tone or Style Enhancements:
While proofreaders ensure consistency in tone, they do not rewrite or alter the style to make it more engaging or creative. This is typically part of an editing service.
Fact-Checking:
Proofreaders will not verify the accuracy of facts, dates, or data included in your document. The responsibility for correctness lies with the author.
Plagiarism Checking:
Proofreading services do not include scanning the text for plagiarism or ensuring originality.
Formatting Beyond Basic Adjustments:
While proofreaders may point out inconsistencies in formatting, they will not overhaul the layout, design, or visual presentation of your document.

How do I create a resume to have it proofread?

It's very simple: First, you sign up or log in to your account. When logged in, click on My Documents. Then click on Resumes and click on + New Resume.

Alternatively, you can also choose to:

Import your existing data from LinkedIn and choose your preferred design to create a resume with LinkedIn.

What are editor’s notes?

Editor’s notes are not a mandatory part of every proofreading service. These editor’s notes are comments or suggestions left by a proofreader to provide additional clarification, context, or feedback about the document they are reviewing. These notes are aimed at the author and are left for them only in cases when:

Clarification Is Needed:
When a section of the document is unclear or ambiguous, the editor might ask for clarification or suggest alternative phrasing.
Context or Intent Is Uncertain:
If the proofreader is unsure about the intended meaning of a sentence or how it fits into the overall context, they might flag it with a note.
Recommending Improvements:
Editor's notes may highlight areas for improvement, such as restructuring a sentence for better readability, suggesting stronger word choices, or addressing inconsistencies.
Flagging Content-Specific Issues:
These notes can also address errors or inconsistencies that require the author's input, such as missing information, conflicting dates, or incorrect terminology.

Can I order proofreading for my resume created outside Kickresume?

Yes, of course! But you have to import the resume into Kickresume first and then proceed as usual with ordering the proofreading service.

How will I know my resume has been proofread?

You’ll be notified by email and a proofread copy of your resume will appear in your Kickresume account.

How do I create documents in other languages?

You can create your documents in any left-to-right language! There are actually two ways to create documents in other languages:

If you’d like to create your document in a different language (English, German, Spanish, Slovak, Portuguese, Italian), you can easily do so by scrolling down to the footer of the site and choosing the language. The platform will adapt accordingly and your documents as well.

If you don’t wish to change the language of the settings or wish to create it in any other language:

Go to your editing mode.
Click on the name of the section and rewrite it to any language.
