Responsible for the well being of hundreds of animals representing dozens of species. Daily duties include administering medications, feeding/watering, herding, mucking, assisting with birthing complications, euthanizing.

Maintenance responsibilities include construction upkeep of facilities, maintain all plumbing (gas and water) and electrical systems, remodeling animal pens and enclosures, and landscape management. Daily use of farm tractors and various ATVs.

Create and maintain 50 acre common garden plots from scratch in remote areas throughout the Western United States. Collaborate with NFS, USFWS, BLM, Military, ID State Parks, UT Division of Wildlife Resources, AZ Game and Fish, CA Fish and Wildlife staff with data collection logistics and garden implementations.

Data collection obtained utilizing GIS with Sub meter GPS; LI-COR Soil Gas Flux systems, and various handheld measuring instruments.

Other duties:

• Installation and maintenance of large scale remote irrigation systems
• GPS plotting
• Fence installation (barbed wire, chain link)
• Augering/Tree planting (Sagebrush, Fremont Cottonwood, Long Leaf Cottonwood, Box Elder, Coyote Willow, Tamarisk)
• Operation of heavy machinery (bulldozers, excavators)
• Obtain plant clippings for propagation

Internships: Directed annual program of individualized, full-time, internships for 100 11th graders each school year.

Examples include: NOAA, wildlife rescue and rehabilitation organizations, San Diego Zoo, San Diego Natural History Museum Botany, Herpetology, Paleontology, and Entomology Departments, UCSD Biomedical Engineering Department, UCSD Center for Integrative Medicine, U.S. Navy, Salk Institute for Biological Sciences, Living Coast Discovery Center, Ocean Discoveries Institute, and other organizations in England, Hawaii, and Ecuador.

Used word processing, database and spreadsheet software, and printers and scanners to create, copy, edit, store, retrieve, document, print and store all documents and standard reports involved in creating and managing an internship program for 100 11th graders each year over the course of seven years.

International Immersion Programs: Developed, managed, chaperoned and travelled with 15-30 high school students on one to two week educational trips abroad. Coordinated travel logistics, managed finances, liaised with parents and tour guides, provided 24/7 chaperoning. Collaborated with non-profit organizations to incorporate service learning:

• Egypt, 2009: SCUBA certification, diving in the Red Sea, trekking in remote areas with Bedouin, and meetings with political prisoners in Cairo.
• Australia, 2011: wildlife rehabilitation, remote and rural home stays and immersion learning with an Aboriginal tribe, and construction of individual didgeridoos.
• Thailand, 2013: kayaking the Gulf of Thailand, rubber plantation experience, home stays and immersion learning at an orphanage for high school children in rural Thailand, silk screening, and archeological exploration of Buddhist ruins.

Assisted mild/moderate high school students at a free, public charter high school in their academic and social endeavors at school. Created and implemented student IEP/504 plans. Collaborated with parent/guardians, teachers and administrators on ensuring the success of students on my caseload.

Led a neighborhood association group with police officers and city counselors in a demographically and socioeconomically diverse community. Planned local events and community outreach events with neighbors and city officials and SDPD.
